Meet our instructor
Moenike Sims
Moenike Sims is the visionary Founder and CEO of PosMoe, an organization committed to elevating artistic excellence and fostering cultural exchange within the dance community. A former Miss Black Tulsa and Miss Black Oklahoma, Moenike’s leadership journey took root at Oklahoma City University, where she founded OCU Rhythms, a dance team that remains vibrant and influential to this day.
With a bachelor’s degree in Dance and Arts Management, Moenike moved to New York City, where she broadened her brand, performed in the entertainment industry, and collaborated with inner-city programs to choreograph high-profile fundraising events. Upon returning to Tulsa, she established the Edison Dance Company and served as an educator in the school system for 11 years. During her tenure, she successfully secured over $100,000 in college scholarships for her students, providing them with transformative arts experiences.
Driven by her deep passion for Hispanic culture, Moenike relocated to Miami, Florida, where she continues educating and developing dancers globally. Her journey culminated in the creation of PosMoe, through which she inspires and mentors the next generation of artists. While she has received numerous awards, recognitions, and honorariums, Moenike finds her greatest joy in witnessing lives transformed and creatives flourishing as they realize their fullest potential.
Student Testimonials

Dance Student
I joined Ms. Moenike Sims' dance program a few weeks into my sophomore year of high school, initially as a blowoff class. Her dedication became clear during our 9 weeks of Jazz when she pushed me to achieve splits I thought were impossible. Her support made splits my signature move and even featured in my senior yearbook. I grew to love the class, learning about tap dancing, regional African dances, and ballet. Ms. Sims invited me to join the Edison Dance Company, which became a highlight of my high school experience. Her professionalism and organizational skills were crucial for our community performances. Ms. Sims also taught me invaluable life lessons, stepping in during personal issues, guiding my faith journey, and providing advice during tough times. Moenike Sims is one of the most influential people in my life, and I credit her for who I am today.

Dance Student
Five years ago, I joined Moenike Sims' dance class expecting to learn a few Ballet or Hip-Hop moves and earn elective credit. By the end of the year, I had gained extensive exposure to the dance world and its history. I improved physically in flexibility, rhythm, and technique, and also grew psychologically, becoming more confident and appreciative of my progress. I learned commitment, excellence, and kindness. Four years of dance classes later, I graduated high school not just as a better dancer, but as a well-rounded person, with Moenike as a mentor and friend. Moenike provides a unique learning experience, understanding the connection between a healthy mind and body. She tailors her teaching to individual strengths and weaknesses, explaining techniques clearly. For anyone wanting to develop dance skills, confidence, and personal growth, I highly recommend Moenike Sims.
